EVA chairs and INGRID Chairs are most often found and restored for a new life.

The Danish furniture designer and factory owner Niels Koefoed created a wide range of dining room furniture in the typical Danish modern style during the mid-century period.

The factory was located in Koefoeds Hornslet, hence the stamp in addition to the Danish Furniture Stamp.

The EVA chairs are typically more often found in laminated teak.

This is a popular and lasting model.

We restore this style by cleaning, tightening and oiling the wood frames to like new condition.

They are usually upholstered with wool fabrics, sometimes leather too. The left leather seat is an original.

The chairs are also made with solid Afrormosia frames. The seat boards are most often shaped particle boards.

We reupholster the seats with new heavy duty foam and upholstery PU/faux leather or cowhide upholstery full grain leather.

Compared to high back chairs such as EVA and Ingrid chairs, this style comes with a lower upholstered back.

The height of the back measured from seat up is about 14 1/2″

The same measurement for an EVA chair is about 22 “

That of the Ingrid chair is about 21″

And this chair from Sweden is also about 22″

Highback chairs are comfortable, and they look formal too, especially with a large group.

Grouped with other popular low back styles, this style stands out a little with its curved back back and aged beautiful grains.

The large upholstered back really gives great support to your lower back in a natural and comfortable way.

The height of the backs are slightly different among the styles in this group.

The Erick Buch Model #49 is higher by about 1 1/2″.

Moller model #75 in teak and natural paper cord is slightly lower.

Moller Model #71 in rosewood and paper cord is slightly higher at the dip.

And Herman Miller fiber glass molded Shell armchair is also slightly higher at the top.

I have not received complaints of any of the above styles being a pain to sit in. I think Dansih designers had figured out collectively that as long as the height of the seat is around 18″ from the floor, the height of the backs really does not matter that much.

The Erick Buch #49 actually is wildly popular for being very comfortable.

The Moller #71 in teak and rosewood, with either upholstered or woven seats, have always been liked by their owners.

To many, comfortableness and pleasant style are the most important deciding factors in choosing vintage restored dining chairs.

Next probably comes quality of restoration. It requires a lot of hours to reach our level and customer satisfaction. We are slow and patient.

Sometimes, you really like a style and think they will work. But the number of chairs available may not be ideal. When it comes to vintage dining chair sets, larger sets are more difficult to build. Large sets are worth more than singles and smaller sets.

Finally the shipping cost: I have a feeling we are all working for FedEx, UPS and Amazon. Eventually all the money end up there.

FedEx Home Delivery cost has gone up a LOT over the last two years. It costs about $130 per chair going from Boston to West coast. That does not even include the materials we use and the time we put in packing. But packed properly, your chairs will arrive safe and sound.
